Counselling Families, Children & Adolescents

Cheryl has worked with children and adolescents over a number of years in a range of settings. Her work with children has also involved autism support and she has a special interest in this
area.

Techniques that have proved most effective with younger clients are sandplay, symbol work and other expressive therapies such as art and movement. Cheryl has undertaken extended training in the use of these techniques and has used this approach to facilitate positive change and resolve emotional issues for many younger clients.

Cheryl has also had additional training in Family Therapy and is able to work with families to resolve conflicts, overcome family crises and build positive family relationships.

Counselling families of young people suffering from depression or drug addiction

Lindy specialises in working with people who live with adolescents and young adults suffering from depression, drug addiction and related self-harming behaviours.  Friends, partners, parents and siblings are often the silent casualties of these emotionally demanding years, as their energies are concentrated on the troubled person's healing.  This often comes at great personal cost to their own emotional wellbeing.  Lindy draws on a number of counselling modalities to support clients in understanding the impact of these challenges and developing strength, hope and constructive coping strategies.
