Cheryl is trained in Relationship Counselling and Emotion Focused Therapy. She uses an emotion focused approach in her work with couples as she believes this approach strengthens the emotional bond between couples, leading to a loving and harmonious relationship. This approach supports each individual in connecting to the inner self, from which place they are able to express and process past hurts, release ‘stuck’ emotions that create unhealthy relationship patterns, and discover and express those emotions and tendencies that are oriented towards connection, joy and growth.

This approach promotes personal growth and the development of emotional intelligence and skills that are life changing, with a resonating influence for the future. Enabling couples to experience this process together strengthens the emotional bond and facilitates understanding, resulting in a partnership that is strong, loving and supportive.
Cheryl has had additional training in Family Therapy and is able to work with families to resolve conflicts, overcome family crises and build positive family relationships. Cheryl's ability to connect with individuals of all ages allows her to work effectively with the whole family, helping them to move forward with better patterns of relating and strategies for improving communication, problem solving and resolving conflict.
