Chronic or Life threatening Disease
Lindy's personal experience of chronic and life-threatening disease has compelled her to focus her counselling skills on clients requiring support during the early stages of an illness. Lindy's clients include the newly-diagnosed, their family, friends, colleagues and employers, many of whom grapple with their own emotional response following a life-altering diagnosis of someone close to them.

Lindy also works with families who are providing care to an older person, or grappling with the emotional challenges of placing their loved one in to assisted care. The decision and process associated with placing a loved one into assisted care due to age, illness or disability is impactful for a family. Individual and family wellbeing are placed under considerable pressure by the grief, distress and conflict which arise from the decision to access assisted care. These responses may contribute to breakdowns in relationships, compounding feelings of grief and loss.
Using a broad spectrum of modalities Lindy assists her clients to understand the shifts which arise from life challenges such as those discussed above, and to develop constructive strategies in response. So equipped, Lindy and the client work to find strength and hope in situations which may otherwise seem insurmountable.
